Pool Update...The deck is poured

From here they screen it in, clean and finish the interior, texture and stain the deck, place the equipment and fill er up! We're close now! As many have asked already, the holes in the deck are planters. After the pool folks, I'm Rockledge Gadrens' best friend.

Bald Eagle

It's been a great month for new wildlife in the backyard......we also had a Redtail Hawk move in at the begining of the summer. He's been fun to watch all summer long.

Tile

Remember, we have a work in progress here, but the tiles are the first thing that will actually be visable when the pool is finished.
The grout, stair caps and accent tiles under the spa aren't in yet and the tan border under the tiles is simply the temporary shelf used to support the tiles as they dry in place and will be removed after grout. I am guessing we are nearing deck stage as the plumping was completed this week. Maybe next week? After deck comes screen and pump equipment, then pool finish and we fill the sucker up! Anyone wishing to comtribute to the 15,000 gallon water bill for the month of September can send donations to the house :) That's all for now.

Welcome Samuel Eli Jaeckel

Our love and happiness go out to the Jaeckels with the delivery of their first baby. Jeff and Mer are a special part of our lives and we wish we could be closer at times like these. Great job Mom and Dad....too bad he seems to have gotten Jeff's looks! :)

Tile Comes tomorrow

The pool business has been a bit slow this week, plumbing and more digging.....yey. Tomorrow is a big day....the first day that something you can see for the life of the pool will be started. The tile folks come tomorrow to start tiling the pool waterline in. The guy that is building the summer kitchen will also be here tomorrow to check everything out and see our design. It's starting to get real.

Add Bobcat to the list!

If the flood's a comin', build the Ark in Baytree. We can now add the Florida Bobcat to the list of Armadillo, Pig, Deer, Otter, Hawk, Eagle, Vulture, Owl (screetch owls are amazingly large!), three species of snakes, multiple tree frogs, toads, lizards, squirrels, possums and raccoons.
Look close in the bottom right of the video behind the orange fence

The Day After......&#$& TSUN!

I thought I would let it simmer for a day and things would settle down. I thought I might be able to rationalize a Big Ten team losing their season opener, at home, against a Div I-AA team. Apparently since Michigan can no longer beat OSU on the field, they have devised a new strategy.....bring down the Big Ten. Lloyd "Car-Wreck" has sunk to a new level of disaster. As much as it pains me to say (as I've enjoyed beating the crap out of TSUN 5 of the last 6 years), he has to go. You can't lose that game.

Now not only do I have to deal with this on a Big Ten level, thinking about how many times this loss will come up throughout the year as the Big Ten wins close ones, works to win the respect of the media and attempts to get back into the National Championship picture (heaven forbid an OSU, Wisconsin or Penn State lose to TSUN this year), BUT.....Now I have to listen to a whole new round of jabs from "SEC fan" who already thinks they should be playing in the NFL and not the NCAA. It's a dark day in Melbourne. If you schedule a Div I-AA team, you should have to sign a contract that allows the winning team to take the schedule of the losing team for the remainder of the season. Then TSUN would be playing off the radar in Boone, NC for the reaminder of their homes games......where they belong.
