I don't remember a day since we've moved to Melbourne (Jacksonville was a different story) when the temp didn't get above 40 and usually 50 at some point during the day. While we would occasionally get down to or just below 32 over the past 7 years, it was only for a matter of minutes at any one time. You can count the hours on two hands. So given we didn't break 35 on Saturday, have had a week straight of subfreezing temps at night and actually saw frozen puddles on the road Sunday morning, it's been a very unusual weather event.
On a positive note, we're all bundled up and doing fine, Tucker wastes no time when "doing his business", the owners of the iceplex where Brayden skates probably saved $1,500 on their utilities this month, and the boys saw snow! For about 10 minutes on Saturday we progressed from falling slush, to sleet to actual snowflakes. No accumulation or notable flurries, but snow flakes none the less. Hoping you are able to stay warm. Maybe you need to make more wassail.
It seems everyone else is getting pounded with snow and cold while our winter is much warmer than last. We have yet to need to wear socks and sweatshirts to bed to fight the chill. Maybe all the typhoons we had earlier made for a milder winter.
